As an award-winning writer, actress, voice-over artist, producer, director, show host and speaker with a master's degree from the Yale University School of Drama and a B.A. from Stanford University, I have an extensive background in entertainment, performing on Broadway and in television series, feature films, theater productions and national TV commercials. You may have watched me play Cynthia in ROOTS: The Next Generations, T.C. the Plumber’s Helper in Good Times, Lily the forensics wiz in Burke’s Law, Gloria the politico in Major Dad, a vampire in Cliffhangers, and many other characters. And if you’re a daytime TV fan, you might’ve seen me on Ryan’s Hope and Days of Our Lives. You could recognize me from McDonald’s, Best Buy, Yoplait, Pampers and other national commercials, and you've probably heard me announcing ABC network shows and voicing ads for Chevrolet, FedEx, KFC, Bank of America and various major brands. I’ve narrated planetarium space shows and voiced animations too, like The Little Engine That Could, Little Nemo, Scooby Doo, The Smurfs, Batman, The Pound Puppies, Captain Caveman and The Flintstone Kids.
Now, my show business career infuses my mystery-thriller short story book Twelve Stories High with cinematic style and characters I've loved to spend time with and hope you will too. I'm super excited for you to read it! People are my passion, and stories about their challenges, desires, needs, and struggles drive me to create adventures you'll want to go to bed with at night, lay out with at the beach, and wake up with while you eat breakfast. That's why I write non-fiction too—articles and celebrity interviews with fellow actors and musicians, the most notable of which, published in Essence magazine, won the American Diabetes Association National Media Award and led me to author the motivational self-help book You Can Change the World: Be a Change Wizard and Get It Like You Like It—to help you reach your highest potential and generate positive change from the inside out.

When I'm not performing or writing, I love to paint, design, sew, garden, read, walk at the beach (really!), bake, meditate, and share fun times with family and friends. I was born and raised in New York City, and having lived elsewhere in America and in France and the Caribbean, traveling in Africa, South America, and across the US, I believe that each of us has a fascinating story to tell - and even a fictional character can reveal the magic in us all. #WeCreateOurStory #LifeIsAMystery #We AreOne
